By: James @Blog2Market Mello Surprisingly, 5-10% of Internet users are unable to manage how much time they spend online. This is more of a psychological rather than a substance based addiction, as brain scans show a similar impairment in specific regions of the brain of these Internet users to drug dependent individuals especially in terms of attention, emotion and decision-making. Heavily involved media users not only perform poorly at multi-tasking, but also fall victim to phantom vibration syndrome, which involves an individual thinking their phone went off when it in fact did not. In a study conducted, 89% of test subjects perceived this to occur roughly once every 2 weeks. Technology has rewired our nervous systems and our brain is being controlled in an unprecedented manner and with technology continuing to evolve, this issue is going to continue to get worse.
